OpenAI plans Google Cloud distribution

OpenAI and Google Cloud said OpenAI’s frontier models and Codex workflows will become available through Google Cloud’s Model Garden and Marketplace in the coming weeks. Customers will be able to apply existing Google Cloud commitments, while the companies say Google’s access controls and data-governance tools will support regulated workloads. Reuters independently reported the agreement and said it follows the end of OpenAI’s exclusive Microsoft distribution arrangement in April.

The move makes a rival cloud platform another route to OpenAI models, rather than evidence that any particular model is better or safer. General availability remains planned, not complete, and Microsoft remains OpenAI’s primary cloud partner.

ChatGPT Ads reaches 89 countries

OpenAI expanded ChatGPT Ads to 26 additional countries, taking its stated availability to 89 countries. The company says more than 100,000 advertisers have used the product and that ads appear only on Free and Go plans, with Plus, Pro and Enterprise remaining ad-free.

OpenAI says ads are clearly labelled, separated from answers, and do not influence answers; its accompanying engineering account describes a separate ad-selection service that interprets conversational context, retrieves candidates, applies eligibility and quality checks, and can return no ad. Those are product-design commitments from the company, not an independent privacy or relevance assessment.

Thousands of agents sift mouse-brain data

OpenAI, PerturbAI and Scripps Research described using thousands of GPT-Rosalind-powered agents to analyze a whole-brain CRISPR atlas covering millions of mouse brain cells. The team says the agents divided work across gene disruptions, literature search and proposed explanations, then assembled a reasoning atlas; it reports the analysis took 32 minutes.

The work identifies leads for follow-up, including a possible link involving DCTN1 and cholesterol regulation, rather than a treatment result. The researchers say human experts preferred the distributed-agent reports to single-agent reports in 75% of blinded comparisons, but the biological mechanisms still require laboratory testing.

OpenAI proposes a wider PHP response model

OpenAI said its Patch the Planet initiative coordinated maintainers, researchers and security providers around critical PHP vulnerabilities that it says were found with GPT-5.6 Sol and independently reported by Wiz. OpenAI says Wiz independently reported both vulnerabilities. PHP maintainers led the fixes, according to the company, while partners including Wiz and Cloudflare helped with research, technical support, guidance and protections before disclosure.

The company’s proposed response model runs from maintainer validation and upstream fixes through advance notice for affected organizations, government coordination, downstream preparation and public guidance. The immediate operational advice is less abstract: organizations using PHP should follow the maintainers’ update guidance. OpenAI’s broader model is a proposal, not an adopted industry standard.

NVIDIA and Google Cloud outline A5X rollout

NVIDIA and Google Cloud announced A5X instances built around Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, ConnectX-9 networking, Virgo Network and liquid cooling. They say general availability is coming next month, with a planned European expansion, and Google Cloud plans to scale Rubin-based infrastructure to as many as 960,000 GPUs across multiple sites.

Those capacity and performance statements are forward-looking vendor plans. The concrete near-term point is a new cloud configuration aimed at training, inference and reinforcement-learning workloads, with availability and eventual scale still to be demonstrated in operation.
